AIKMS Statement on Economic Survey

Economic Survey released by the govt. fails absolutely to provide answers for declining peasant incomes, rising agricultural crises and rural unemployment in India. Its recommendations further the same policy initiatives that are aggravating this crises by promoting corporate and MNC penetration and income from Indian agriculture.

It recommends promotion of export markets and ignores the crying need to rejuvenate home markets by increasing income & purchasing power of peasants and rural labour. It pretentiously pats the govt. for ‘increasing’ Mnregs expenditure which actually less than the earlier peak, it also fails to question abysmally low wages, delayed payments, poor coverage and rampant corruption.

It identifies the rising levels of share cropping, now on 35% of agricultural land and talks of land consolidation to help use of precision technologies and mechanization, but ignores completely the task of progressive land reforms, giving land to the poor and ensuring that small holdings become economically viable. It is geared to promote contract and corporate farming by consolidating small farm plots which will further uproot small farmers from even this meagre means of livelihood.

It attacks ‘untargeted subsidies’ in power and fertilizer which will only mean a substantial rise in rural power tariffs and further stiffening of fertilizer costs.Read More

Kasganj: Conspiracy of RSS

Kasganj (UP) has become another centre on the map of India where RSS goons have attacked Muslims. These goons waving saffron flags on January 26 attacked Muslims observing 26th January Republic Day with tricolor.

CPIML-New Democracy strongly condemns the local police and administration of Kasganj for deliberately permitting anti Muslim communal violence by RSS/ BJP outfits and leaders. They are behaving as if it is already Hindu Rashtra of RSS as claimed by its Chief, Mohan Bhagwat. They do not bother to even appear even handed.

The incident occurred during the Republic Day program celebrations at Veer Abdul Hamid Crossing in Badda Mohalla when hundreds of people were waiting to unfurl the National flag, a decades long tradition. At this time motorcycle born RSS activists arrived there with their Tiranga Yatra, sporting one Tiranga and rest Saffron flags and tried to force their way through the programme. While this was objected to the rallyists raised slogans of ‘Hindu-Hindu Hindustan, Muslim Jao Pakistan’ and ‘Hinudstan mein rehna hai to Vande Matram Kehna hai’n. Although the assembled crowd chased away these miscreants the police came and fired in which Chandan Gupta, a bystander died and 15 year old Naushad suffered a bullet injury in his thigh.… Read More

Fight Corruption in Judiciary, Fight Fascist Attacks of Modi Govt.

12th of January 2018 has seen an unprecedented and historic action by four senior most judges of the Supreme Court of India. Justices J. Chalemeswar, Joseph Kurien, Ranjan Gogoi and M.B. Lokur addressed a Press Conference saying they had been forced to come before the nation in a step they themselves described as an extraordinary event and one unprecedented in the history of India. They have asserted that they are speaking because the administration of the Supreme Court was not in order, ‘less than desirable things were happening’. They stated that all four of them had written a letter to Chief Justice Mishra four months ago and had also collectively met him but though the suggestion they gave was implemented it was done in a manner that attacked the integrity of the judiciary. They again met the Chief Justice collectively this morning but have been forced to come before the people, because,as they said, they did not want it said years hence that they had remained silent because they ‘had sold their souls’. While refusing to discuss issues, they did indicate that cases with far reaching consequences were being assigned selectively and there was a departure from rules which would hurt the integrity of the Supreme Court.… Read More
