CPI(ML) Condemns communal killings of Muslims in Peda Village (Bijnor)

UP Committee of CPI(ML) ND strongly condemns the Bijnor administration, particularly SP Bijnor for manipulating the Peda village anti Muslim flare up to cover up and save the communal elements and the role of SI Anurag Chowdhary, local Jat landlords Sansar Singh, Pritam Singh and Manoj Lala who organized the attack yesterday on the houses of poor Muslim landless workers of Dhobi community.

CPI(ML) has  demanded

  1. Registration of cases against the guilty SI, policeman, Home guards and other accused. Immediate arrest of all the accused.
  2. Registration of a case of criminal conspiracy and abetment to communal disharmony against SP Bijnor.
  3. A Judicial enquiry into the incident, especially into the communal role of the police officials.
Sections of the media have wrongly reported the incident as a clash between two communities. The entire attack was by Jat goondas belonging to a powerful family of Peda and the Home Guards on the Muslims. All the dead and injured are Muslims. They have also wrongly reported the matter as one of Muslim youth eve teasing Jat girls. The truth is that Jat boys were eve teasing Muslim girls going to school.
As has been widely reported in local papers, several girls of Peda village go to study at their KPS school every day and assemble at the local bus stop at 8 am.

RSS cow vigilante groups are unleashing mayhem across the country. Their acts are not only criminal and heinous but they publicize their acts with impunity. They know that they are backed by the powers that be and the state machinery moves to protect these groups, or one may say that this vigilantism is state sponsored.

On July 11 in village Mota Samadhiyala near Una in Gujarat the RSS hoodlums beat up dalits for skinning a dead cow and posted this video. In Haryana these hoodlums had forced two alleged ‘beef smugglers’ to eat cow dung. In Karnataka, RSS’s Bajrang Dal activists have attacked dalits for a similar reason. Two Muslim women were beaten by RSS activists at a Railway Station in MP for half an hour on the suspicion of carrying beef. These incidents are neither isolated nor spontaneous. There is a systematic campaign unleashed by the RSS-BJP vigilante groups across the country particularly in the states ruled by the BJP. A number of such groups are functioning and coordinating their activities with local police. In Haryana, along the border with UP, a large number of such groups man the nakas on the roads. They beat up, even kill on the excuse of cows being taken across the border for sale.… Read More

Jadavpur University students resist ABVP–RSS  communal  conspiracy

Jadavpur University students came to national news headline on 7th May, 2016. On 6th May the students of Jadavpur unitedly resisted the attack of ABVP-RSS goons in their campus. What happened on 6th May? During JNU incident and Rohit Vemula murder agitation Jadavpur students have shown strong solidarity that has annoyed BJP & RSS leadership. From that time they were planning to create communal tension within the campus, but very few students, only 10-20 out of 5000 students, were supporting them. They have floated a RSS backed platform “India Thinks” and planned to screen a film by Vivek Agnihotri on 6th May in Triguna Sen auditorium, Jadavpur. The Alumni association initially permitted them to screen but later on withdrew their permission. Students were ready to protest against the Hindutvawadi chauvinistic message of that film but had no objection regarding screening of that film. When the permission was withdrawn, ABVP with local lumpens assembled inside the Jadavpur University campus & started screening of that film in a ground. Hundreds of protesting students of all three faculties of university also started screening a film ‘Muzaffarnagar Baki Hai’ and shouting slogans against RSS-ABVP. Joint registrar of the University came to ABVP supporters and objected against screening of this film without permission.… Read More

PDSU-PSU Call — Fight Against Punishment to JNU Students for Defending Democratic Rights!

Resist Fascist Offensive of Pseudo-National Communal RSS-BJP Govt!

The students of JNU have again been ruthlessly attacked by the JNU administration at the behest of the RSS Modi Govt. Seeing the opportunity when examinations have started and certain sections of students have even begun leaving for summer vacations, the cowardly administration has announced rustication for various periods for Umar Khalid and Muttoo, prohibited Anirban from the JNU campus for five years and imposed massive fines on other student leaders including the President of JNUSU Kanaihya Kumar. All this is supposed to be in the defence of ‘nationalism’ by the RSS backed Central Govt committed to selling India to imperialism while cruelly stamping out peoples resistance. Not only that, these Hindutva elements in power also seek to stamp out the freedom of enquiry by attacking centres of higher learning and ensuring only conformity and studies into mythology as the only knowledge allowed to Indians. They are the native Macaulays. Besides, like Dronacharya, they too hate the Dalit students who have made their way into institutions of higher learning. The proof is Rohith Vemula.

The JNU students have accepted the challenge and have launched a struggle against this drama of ‘defending’ nationalism which is all what these arbitrary punishments are about.… Read More

AIKMS Communalism Land Struggles Peasants Semi-feudal

Resolutions from Third All India Conference of All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS)

  1. On compensation for crop damage.

The third All India Conference of AIKMS expresses its grave concern at the serious losses suffered by peasants due to damage to crops on account of inadequate protection from natural causes like drought and floods and havoc caused by companies supplying spurious seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Such crop damage depresses the conditions of the already crisis ridden peasantry, pushing many of them into destitution and helplessness.

The third All India Conference demands that the govt. must pay full compensation for the entire loss of crops suffered by any number of peasants. No criteria should be artificially fixed to deprive them of this right. This compensation should be paid to peasants, share croppers and agricultural labourers suffering due to damage to crops.

  1. Indebtedness and loan waiver

The third All India Conference of AIKMS expresses its grave concern at the rise of indebtedness in the peasantry and agricultural labour, pushing many of them to suicide. Peasant suicides are continuing in Vidharba, Telengana, Punjab and many other parts of the country, while cases of suicides of agricultural labourers are also being reported. The cause of rising indebtedness lies in the adverse terms of trade with regard to agriculture – rising cost of inputs and absence of remunerative prices, inadequate institutional lending forcing peasants to take private loans.… Read More

Oppose Communal Offensive of RSS-BJP

Demand Punishment to Guilty of 1984 Sikh Genocide, 2002 Gujarat Pogrom and other murderous attacks on minorities

Mobilize the people for secularism of shared aspirations based on unity of workers, peasants and all sections of people

6th December, the day RSS-BJP hordes in connivance with the then Congress Govt. had demolished Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, has come to be marked as the day of struggle of aggressive Hindu communalism. Over the years protests against communalism have been held on this day. This year it is all the more important to observe this day as communal attacks on minorities, particularly Muslims, have grown along with attacks on rationalists and intellectuals opposed to communalism. Besides Modi led BJP Govt. has packed all the Govt. bodies dealing with education, art & culture including cinema, historical research and history writing, and even science with nominees of RSS. While there were more than 600 incidents of communal violence targeting minorities in the first year of power, there have been more than 300 such incidents over the past three months alone. These incidents have exposed the hand of hydra headed RSS in such incidents and shocking statements of ruling party leaders to justify these attacks. These incidents have once again brought to fore deep penetration of majority communalism in police and administration which facilitates such attacks, rewards the culprits and hounds the victims.… Read More

Statement on Bihar Elections

While Bihar assembly elections held recently have delivered a massive defeat to Narendra Modi led RSS-BJP at the Centre, they also showed that the basic issues facing the people did not become the main issues in the elections. It shows the success of the ruling classes and the big media controlled by them in allowing only certain issues to reach the people at large. Despite big increase in the role of corporate media, a large number of people (nearly 24%) did not vote for the candidates fielded by the claimants to power i.e. Grand Alliance of RJD, JD-U and Congress and NDA of BJP, LJP, RLSP and HAM-S. Over 2.5% rejected all the candidates by stamping NOTA and 9.4 percent voted for independent candidates. This shows that disillusion with main claimants to power runs deep despite massive dose of propaganda to make it a direct contest and polarize the voters between main contestants for power.

Bihar assembly election results have given a big blow to the murderous attacks by the RSS-BJP against minorities, particularly Muslims and the murders and intimidation of rationalists and intellectuals opposing the fascist trends by little known fanatical organizations linked to RSS. A large number of intellectuals have come forward to condemn these attacks and their return of awards has focused attention on this danger.… Read More

Against Yaqub Memon’s Hanging

The judicial hanging of Yaqub Memon, an accused of Mumbai blasts of 1993, and the undue haste in which this was carried out on July 30, 2015 has once again highlighted the discrimination practiced by the different wings of the Indian state towards sections of Indian citizens. It has raised many questions and large sections of people have protested against this. A large attendance at the funeral of Yaqub Memon which has been dubbed as anti-national by BJP and Shiv Sena, testifies to the growing unease among large sections of people against the brazenness of such exercise.
Besides, the debate on desirability and efficacy of capital punishment, which has been going on for a long time and which gets particularly sharp whenever any capital punishment is going to carried out, the hanging of Yaqub Memon has raised two important sets of questions. The first of these relates to whether Yaqub Memon’s culpability in the blasts has been correctly assessed, whether mitigating factors like his cooperation with investigative agencies have been given due weightage and whether Indian agencies had promised him lenient treatment in exchange for his cooperation; in all, whether it qualified to be the “rarest of rare” case deserving capital punishment as repeatedly enunciated by the Supreme Court.… Read More
