Former member of Uttar Pradesh Provincial Committee of CPI(ML)-New Democracy and Vice-President of UP State Executive Committee of AIKMS, veteran communist revolutionary Com. Sant Ram breathed his last today at his native village in Unnao district in UP. Com. Sant Ram was recently diagnosed as suffering from lung cancer. He has been a member of the UP Provincial Committee of the Party for a very long time and was relieved from PC due to ill health only in the last state conference.
Com. Sant Ram had joined CPI in 1962 and has consistently been with the revolutionary communist movement having joined CPM after split from CPI in 1964 and communist revolutionaries after break from CPM in 1967. He has been a strong votary of revolutionary line in the communist movement. Belonging to poor peasant family, Com. Sant Ram participated in the revolutionary peasant movement and was always in the forefront of this struggle. He led a long underground life.
UP Provincial Committee of CPI(ML)-New Democracy paid revolutionary homage to Com. Sant Ram and vowed to carry forward the tasks of new democratic revolution in the country for which Com. Sant Ram worked throughout his life.
