12 years back on this day (March 27) Com. Rajinder Shadangi breathed his last in Bhuvaneshwar. He left his indelible mark on the people’s movements in Odisha and on anti-displacement movements throughout the country.
Simplicity in life, deep commitment to the people and above all intellectual honesty defined him. He cared little for the personal where the issues of people were concerned, he bothered little for self when he was convinced of an issue. His was living a life of convictions.
His short but intense involvement with the revolutionary movement and people’s struggles bears testimony that the value of life is not in longevity but in utility to the people. He strove and strove hard to leave a better world behind him.
On his death anniversary let us pledge to follow in our life and work the motto that inspired him and innumerable revolutionaries, “Fear no hardship; Fear not death.”
